On behalf of the organising committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the EUROMAR 2012 on 1st -5th July in Dublin, Ireland.

EUROMAR is a well-established annual international conference on Magnetic Resonance. It is attended by Nobel Laureates, world-class scientists, leading scientific investigators, decision makers, world-renowned commercial partners, publishers and leading companies in the area of nuclear magnetic resonance research and applications. EUROMAR has merged three major partners, European Experimental NMR conference, AMPERE congress and the United Kingdom RSC NMR Discussion Group which had established individual magnetic resonance meetings for several decades dating back to early fifties of 20th century.

Ireland has been known as the land of Saints and Scholars. The capital city, Dublin, lies at the mouth of the river Liffey near the Irish Sea.There is evidence of a community living in Dublin since 5th century. It is a city rich in historical and cultural attractions including the unique Book of Kells, the famous Guinness brewery, the neighbouring hills of Tara and the monastic village of Glendalough.

The conference will take place at University College Dublin (UCD) one of the largest academic institutions in Ireland. UCD is located ~4 km south of Dublin city centre on green leafy grounds. The scientific sessions will take place in the O’Reilly Hall, and in the neighbouring Newman building both of which is surround a beautiful lake. University College Dublin has state-of-the-art on-site accommodation and a multi-purpose restaurant which will cater for conference delegates.

The EUROMAR 2012 will start on 1st July with tutorial lectures, commercial vendor presentations, prize givings and a welcome reception. In addition to plenary speaker presentations, there will be two parallel sessions for each day covering every aspects of nuclear magnetic resonance. The conference banquet will take place on 5th July and the excursions are planned throughout the conference and on the 6th July, for sampling the history and culture of Dublin and its surroundings towns.

The scientific program committee and the local organising committee hope to make the EUROMAR 2012 conference an exciting and memorable scientific event.
